The Differences Between a Professional and Amateur Photographer

Oftentimes, those who are unfamiliar with the world of photography may have Glamour Shots price complaints, when in reality they are getting a great deal for an affordable price. Many people are unaware of the price that comes along with high quality portraits and are unable to recognize the difference between professional and amateur photography right away. While it may be tempting to choose an amateur for your photos, whether it's family portraits, senior portraits, or engagement photos, it's important to choose a professional photographer in order to get the high quality portraits you're looking for.

The Amateur Photographer
Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference between a professional and amateur photographer to the untrained eye. However, if you look through each one's portfolio, there are minor differences that end up making a huge difference after the portrait is printed and framed. Amateur photography may look out of focus, un-centered, and may have a lot of background noise. Look at the lighting of the photo – over and under exposure are tell-tale signs of a photographer who hasn't quite gotten the hang of the art yet.

The Professional Photographer
While there are many amateurs who take good portraits, you can tell a professional portrait from an amateur portrait if you look closely enough. The composition of a professional's photos is usually very deliberate and is often unique in their framing and perspective. Are the portraits useable? Professional photographers are hired because they produce usable portraits.

Creative and Quirky Engagement Portraits

Long gone are the days of couples in matching outfits, holding hands on the beach. Glamour Shots reviews reveal that in today's age, the quirkier, the better! Couples are coming up with fabulous themes and creative outfits to make their engagement portraits stand out. Whether they choose a wild 1920's flapper-esque theme, or a modern take on the infamous "Kissing Sailor" photo, couples are choosing unique and creative ways to let others know they're tying the knot! When choosing a creative theme, it's important to step out of the box… just stay somewhat near it – you want to remain cute and quirky, rather than crazy. Below are a few ways to get the creative juices flowing:

Take Into Consideration Where you Met
Are you high school sweethearts? Did you first bond over your mutual love for a certain sports team? Take into consideration the place that you met your significant other and how it all began – this could be important to snag the perfect engagement portraits.

Think About Your Favorite Books and Movies Is there one book that you're both crazy about? Perhaps you both have a soft spot for the Disney movie, "Up." This could be the perfect movie to base your photoshoot theme on. If you're looking for a more serious movie, a play on "The Notebook" could also be a fun and unique idea.

Consider the Things You Have in Common What do you and your fiancé have in common? Whether it's a sport or hobby, try to integrate it into your portraits. After all, these photos should be all about YOU.

How to Choose the Right Photography Studio

With a large amount of amateur photographers out there today, it can be often be difficult to find an experienced photographer that fits your budget and needs. Glamour Shots offers professional photographers experienced in virtually every type of occasion or event, whether you're looking for portraits for graduation or to celebrate an engagement. Fortunately, there are a few ways to find the right photography studio for your event:

Check out online reviews
If you're unsure whether or not to use a company, such as Glamour Shots, check out online reviews made by previous customers. Customers will say what they liked and didn't like about the experience and finished product, as well as whether or not they thought the prices were fair. Glamour Shots reviews can be found on their official website.

Take a peek into their portfolio
Every photographer, whether part of a studio or independent, should have a portfolio available for viewing. Their portfolio should give you a sneak peek into their own sense of style. For the most accurate look at what they can do for you, make sure you take a look at photos from an event similar to yours. For example, if you're getting a family portrait taken, look at other family portraits that the photographer has done.

Speak to the photography company directly
If you have any questions or concerns, the best way to get the correct answer is to contact the photographer directly. They will be able to answer any questions you have that Glamour Shots reviews may not offer, as well as be able to talk in detail about your specific needs.
